Finding the time to work out and eat healthy is challenging at best, but very worth it. As most people are, I am very busy with school and work; I am a full-time employee and I take anywhere from seven to nine credit hours a semester. So it goes without saying that time is one of my biggest challenges to exercise and eating healthily. The second challenge I face is lack of preparation; in my opinion, in order to live a healthy lifestyle, you must have a plan, meal planning and setting days and times for exercise. I structure my week in a way that affords me several workouts; the times may not be convenient, such as 6:00 am, but that is the only time that I have free. I also try to find the most healthy food available, unfortunately take out is my usual. These challenges will probably not change very much for me in the next five years. If I am not in school then something else will take up my time and energy. If I don’t find the ability to balance my life now then I will probably be unable to balance my life in the future. That being said, in the future, I may have the opportunity to structure my time differently in order to make time. Exercise and healthy eating need to be of great importance in my life in order for me to stay healthy.
Tara,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your post. Time really is one of my biggest obstacles as well! I signed up for Shape magazine which often provides articles on intense workouts that can be done in a time crunch. It also has some really amazing recipes that keep well in the fridge. (The only down side is flipping through pages and pages of impossible female figures!) I wish I had the motivation that you have to go workout in the morning!

Dear Tara,
ReplyDeleteI think we all can agree that time is one of our biggest challenges. I also work full time and go to school full time so exercising is not at the top of my list of things to do. But you are right if you are going to do it you have to make the time. I applaud your motivation I need to really work on that. I really enjoyed reading your blog!

Well said I must say. I have a pretty busy life as well. I also know that my family history of illnesses are quite serious. I must start eating much healthier in order to fight some of the major health issues that comes with obesity. Its great to hear you have taken control over your eating habits and stay focused.
